the IP Address.) Read this entire COM port configuration

section before changing the COM port settings.

The 2H28-08R COM port supports the following applications:

Local Management connections

American Power Conversion Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) connections

NOTE

Refer to the Release Notes included with the 2H28-08R to verify which COM Port applications are currently supported.

To configure the COM port, proceed as follows:

1.Use the arrow keys to highlight the Com field.

!

CAUTION

Do NOT disable or alter the settings of the COM port while operating the current Local Management connection through a terminal. Altering the COM port settings disconnects the Local Management terminal from the port, and ends the Local Management session.

If you are disconnected accidently, and the 2H28-08R was previously assigned a valid IP address, reenter Local Management by establishing a Telnet connection to the device.

If the device does not have a valid IP address and the COM port has been disabled or the settings changed, reset NVRAM on the 2H28-08R (refer to Appendix C, Section C.2.1) to reestablish COM port communications. Clearing NVRAM results in the loss of all user-entered parameters.
