Redialling When the Line is Busy

There are two methods of redialling: Manual redialling and Automatic redialling. This section explains these two methods.

Manual Redialling

Press Redial/Pause to dial the last number you dialled with the numeric buttons. (This starts redialling regardless of whether automatic redialling is enabled.)

Cancelling Manual Redialling

To cancel manual redialling, press Stop/Reset.

Automatic Redialling

The fax automatically redials after the first attempt at sending fails (e.g., the line is busy).

The number of redialling attempts and the time interval between attempts can be adjusted by changing the settings in the AUTO REDIAL setting. Automatic redialling can also be set off and on. (p. 9-5)

If all attempts are unsuccessful, the machine cancels the transmission and prints an ERROR TX REPORT. (p. 7-3)

• You can also set the automatic redialling feature from the MultiPASS Suite. (MultiPASS Suite User’s Guide)

When automatic redialling is in use, the LCD alternately displays AUTO REDIAL and the transaction number (TX/RX NO.) while it is waiting to redial.

Cancelling Automatic Redialling

If you want to cancel a transmission while the machine is waiting to redial, you will have to delete the document from memory. (p. 4-15)
