Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to configure VRF-aware services for ping. For

User Interface for HSRP
HSRP support for VRFs ensures that HSRP virtual IP addresse s are adde d to the corr ect I P ro uting t ab le.

Command Purpose
ping vrf vrf-name ip-host Display the ARP table in the specified VRF.
Command Purpose
Step1 configure terminal Enter global configuration mode.
Step2 snmp-server trap authentication vrf Enable SNMP traps for packets on a VRF.
Step3 snmp-server engineID remote host vrf
vpn-instance engine-id string Configure a name for the remote SNMP engine on a switch.
Step4 snmp-server host host vrf vpn-instance
traps community Specify the recipient of an SNMP trap operation and specify the VRF
table to be used for sending SNMP traps.
Step5 snmp-server host host vrf vpn-instance
informs community Specify the recipie nt of an SNMP info rm operation and specify the VRF
table to be used for sending SNMP informs.
Step6 snmp-server user user group remote host
vrf vpn- instance security model Add a user to an SNMP group for a remote host on a VRF for SNMP
access.
Step7 end Return to privileged EXEC mode.
Command Purpose
Step1 configure terminal Enter global configuration mode.
Step2 interface interface-id Enter interface configuration mode, and specify the Layer 3 in terface to
configure.
Step3 no switchport Remove the interface from Layer 2 configuration mode if it is a physical
interface.
Step4 ip vrf forwarding vrf-name Configure VRF on the interface.
Step5 ip address ip- address Enter the IP address for the interface.
