Chapter38 Configuring IP Unicast Routing Configuring Multi-VRF CE
Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to configure OSPF in the VPN:
Use the no router ospf process-id vrf vrf-name global configuration command to disassociate the VPN
forwarding table from the OSPF routing process.
Configuring BGP PE to CE Routing Sessions
Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to configure a BGP PE to CE routing session:
Command Purpose
Step1 configure terminal Enter global configuration mode.
Step2 router ospf process-id vrf vrf-name Enable OSPF routing, specify a VPN forwarding table,
and enter router configuration mode.
Step3 log-adjacency-changes (Optional) Log changes in the adjacency state. This is the
default state.
Step4 redistribute bgp
autonomous-system-number subnets Set the switch to redistribute information from the BGP
network to the OSPF network.
Step5 network network-number area area-id Define a network address and mask on which OSPF runs
and the area ID for that network address.
Step6 end Return to privileged EXEC mode.
Step7 show ip ospf process-id Verify the configuration of the OSPF network.
Step8 copy running-config startup-config (Optional) Save your entries in the configuration file.
Command Purpose
Step1 configure terminal Enter global configuration mode.
Step2 router bgp autonomous-system-number Configure the BGP routing process with the AS numbe r
passed to other BGP routers, and enter router
configuration mode.
Step3 network network-number mask
network-mask Specify a network and mask to announce using BGP.
Step4 redistribute ospf process-id match
internal Set the switch to redistribute OSPF internal routes.
Step5 network network-number area area-id Define a network address and mask on which OSPF runs
and the area ID for that network address.
Step6 address-family ipv4 vrf vrf-name Define BGP parameters for PE to CE routing sessions, and
enter VRF address-family mode.
Step7 neighbor address remote-as as-number Define a BGP session between PE and CE routers.
Step8 neighbor address activate Activate the advertisement of the IPv4 address family.
Step9 end Return to privileged EXEC mode.
Step10 show ip bgp [ipv4] [neighbors] Verify BGP configuration.
Step11 copy running-config startup-config (Optional) Save your entries in the configuration file.
