Troubleshooting the Processor

10Remove all expansion cards installed in the system. See "Removing an Expansion Card" on page 118.

11Close the system. See "Closing the System" on page 86.

12Reconnect the system to the electrical outlet, and turn on the system and attached peripherals.

13Run the appropriate online diagnostic test.

If the tests fail, see "Getting Help" on page 177.

14For each expansion card you removed in step 10, perform the following steps:

a Turn off the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet.

b Open the system. See "Opening the System" on page 85. c Reinstall one of the expansion cards.

dClose the system. See "Closing the System" on page 86.

eRun the appropriate diagnostic test.

If the tests fail, see "Getting Help" on page 177.

Troubleshooting the Processor

1Run the appropriate online diagnostics test. See "Using Online Diagnostics" on page 165.

2Turn off the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet.

3Open the system. See "Opening the System" on page 85.

4Remove the cooling shroud. See "Removing the Cooling Shroud" on page 88.
