8.1.5.2Removing a dummy module

If a slot does not contain an expansion card, it is occupied by a dummy module. This is a retaining plate with an attached removal tool.

Before inserting an additional hot-plug expansion card, you will first have to remove the dummy module from its slot.

ÊRemove the housing cover (see “Opening/closing the housing” on page 114).

ÊRemove the dummy module in the same way as a PCI board (see figure 32 on page 100).

VCAUTION!

When removing the retraining plate from the removal tool, pay particular attention to the engaging hooks that fasten it to the removal tool. Never lift the engaging hooks by more than approx. 1 mm, in other words only as far until the retaining plate is released. Otherwise you could damage the engaging hooks.

ÊLift the green engaging hooks no more than approx. 1 mm (1) until the retaining plate is released.

ÊTake the retaining plate out (2) and put it aside.
