5.3Configuring the server

This section contains information about configuring the server and installing the operating system.

IMake sure that the energy saving functions are disabled in the BIOS Setup during server operation.

5.3.1Configuring onboard SAS RAID controller

You can configure the RAID either before or during ServerStart. Using Server- Start is recommended.

The onboard SAS RAID controllers are configured either with the WEBBIOS Configuration Utility (call with CTRL-H during BIOS POST) or with the Server- Start disc 1 using ServerViewRAID.

IDescriptions of operating systems not covered in the RAID controller manual are provided in the corresponding readme files on the driver CDs.
