External line referenc e functional ity

The use of an ELR is recommend ed when the phase angle and magnitude of th e
utility feed the dri ve is expected to transfer the motor to can not be accurately
predicted from the pha se angle and magnitude of the ILR. Such situations can arise
when transferring the motor to a generator, to a utility feed separ ate from the one
supplying the drive or in certain plants where multiple transformers with varying
loads are involved. See th e "Innovation Series Line Tran sfer Application Guide" for
a complete discussion of issues related to line reference selection .
The following table specifies variables related to the external line r eference
functionality.
Variable Description
Ext ref phase AB External line reference analog input vol tage.
Ext ref feedback External line reference scaled to represent actual line
voltage.
Motor Equivalent Circuit
The Motor Eq uivalent Cir cuit function implem ents the equivalent circuit of th e
motor.
