Stopping Commands and Modes
The sequ encer provides two mechanism s for issuing a controlled stop of th e drive: a
Normal stop and an X-stop .
A Normal stop can be issued in several ways:
Removing a run request or jog request
Pressing th e Stop pushbutton on the DDI (also cal led the keypad)
Pressing an alternate S top pushbutton (if configured in the drive)
Removing th e Run permissive from the Ready to run permissive string
An X-Stop is issued through a dedicated configurable input to the drive.
A third mechanism for stopping the drive is to generate a Trip fault. In a Trip fault,
since the power to the motor is quickly removed, the drive does not stop the motor in
a controlled manner.
