Command line interface conventions

Command line length may be up to 90 characters long. The command line interface is case-sensitive Parameters in between [ and ] are optional Parameters in between < and > must be entered

The command line interface prompts for commands with a prompt that indicates the identity of the system. It determines how to indicate the identity as follows :

If the SNMP MIB variable sysName.0 exists and is non-empty, that is used first;

Otherwise, if a local IP address exists, that is used; Otherwise, the local MAC address is used.

For example, the prompt might look like one of the following
