1.In addition to preventing chain con- tact with solid objects at the nose of thebar,theSAFE-T-TIP®alsohelps keep the chain away from abrasive surfaces such as the ground. Keep it on the right hand side of the bar, whereitwillbebetweenthechainand the ground during flush with ground cutting.

2.Themountingscrewrequiresa5/16" wrench (or adjustable wrench) to achievetherecommendedtightness of 35 to 45 inch-pounds (4-5 Nm). A tightness within this range can be achieved by the following method.

a)Tightenthescrewwithyourfinger.

b)From the finger-tight position (B), tighten the screw an additional 3/4 of a turn using a wrench (C).

1.En plus d’éviter que la pointe du guide- chaîne heurte des objets durs, le dispositif SAFE-T-TIP®empêche la chaîne d’être en contact avec des sur- faces abrasives, telles que le sol. Le laisser monté sur le côté droit de la pointe du guide-chaîne, ce qui le place entre la chaîne et le sol au cours des coupes effectuées au ras du sol.

2.Utiliser une clé de 5/16 po (ou une clé à molette) pour obtenir le serrage recommandé de 4 à 5 Nm (35 à 45 po- lb). On peut obtenir un tel serrage en utilisant la méthode suivante :

a) Serrer la vis avec les doigts.

b)À partir de la position où elle a été serrée avec les doigts (B), resserrer la vis de 1/2 - 3/4 de tour supplémentaire à l’aide d’une clé (C).

Montage de la protection de pointe SAFE-T-TIP®

Monter le SAFE-T-TIP® sur l’extrémité de la barre (voir les détails sur l’illustration). Le rivet ou la languette de blocage se loge dans le renfoncement du guide-chaîne. Serrer la vis à la main. À partir de la position où elle a été serrée avec les doigts (B), resserrer la vis de 1/2 - 3/4 de tour supplémentaire à l’aide d’une clé (C).

1.Además de evitar que la cadena entre en contacto con objetos sólidos en el borde de la barra, el dispositivo SAFE- T-TIP® ayuda asimismo a mantener la cadenaalejadadesuperficiesabrasivas como por ejemplo el suelo. Manténgalo enelladoderechodelabarra,demanera que se encuentre entre la cadena y el suelo durante las tareas de corte al nivel del suelo.

2.Los tornillos de montaje requieren una llave de tuerca de 5/16” (o una llave de tuerca ajustable) para poder alcanzar el apriete recomendado de 35 a 45 pulgadas-libra(4-5Nm). Paraconseguir un apriete que se encuentre dentro de estos parámetros se puede utilizar el siguiente método.

a)Apriete el tornillo con su dedo.

b)Desde la posición de apriete con el dedo(B),aprietemáseltornillo,entre 1/2 - 3/4 de vuelta y una vuelta con una llave de tuerca (C).

Montaje del protector de punta SAFE-T-TIP®

MontarelprotectorSAFE-T-TIP®enlapunta de la barra (véanse los detalles en la ilustración). El remache o pestaña de traba calza en el agujero ubicado en la barra guía. Ajustar el tornillo a mano. Desde la posición de apriete con el dedo (B), apriete más el tornillo, entre 1/2 - 3/4 de vuelta y una vuelta con una llave de tuerca (C).
