Buttress Roots

A buttress root is a large root extending from the trunk of the tree above ground. Large buttress roots should be removed prior to felling. Make the horizontal cut (A) into the buttress first, followed by the vertical cut (B). Remove the resulting loose section (C) from the work area. Utilize the proper instructions from the Operation-Tree Felling section of the manual after the large buttress roots have been removed.

Racines échasses

Une racine échasse est une grande racine qui s’étend à partir du tronc de l’arbre, au- dessus du sol. Il faut enlever les racines échasses avant l’abattage. Faire d’abord la coupe horizontale (A) sur la racine, puis la coupe verticale (B). Enlever la section ainsi coupée (C) de l’aire de travail. Suivre les instructions appropriées de la section Utilisation – Abattage d’un arbre du manuel, une fois que les grandes racines échasses auront été enlevées.

Bucking

Bucking is the term used for cutting a fallen tree to the desired log length.

Cut only one log at a time.

Supportsmalllogsonasawhorseor another log while bucking.

Keepaclearcuttingarea. Makesure thatnoobjectscancontacttheguide bar nose and chain during cutting, this can cause kickback (D). To avoidthedanger,keeptheSAFE-T- TIP® anti-kickback device attached while cutting. Refer to Safety - Pre- cautions Against Kickback Section.

Tronçonnage

Tronçonnage est le terme employé pour le débitage d’un arbre abattu en billes de longueurs désirées.
