Drives

ÄCAUTION: To reduce the risk of critical data loss, initiate standby before you move the notebook or an optional external hard drive from one location to another. To initiate standby, select Start > Turn Off Computer > Standby. For more information on initiating and resuming from standby, refer to Chapter 2, “Power.”

Removable drives enable you to store and access data.

A USB drive can be added by connecting the drive to a USB port on the notebook or on an optional docking device. For information about connecting a USB drive, refer to the “Using USB Devices” section in Chapter 9.
