INSTALLATION

CAUTION

Initial Inspection

This chapter provides installation instructions for the HP 8360 series synthesized sweeper and its accessories. It also provides information about initial inspection, damage claims, preparation for use, packaging, storage, and shipment.

This product is designed for use in Installation Category II and Pollution Degree 2 per IEC 1010 and 664, respectively.

Inspect the shipping container for damage. If the shipping container or cushioning material is damaged, it should be kept until the contents of the shipment have been checked for completeness and the synthesizer has been checked mechanically and electrically. The contents of the shipment should agree with the items noted on the packing slip. Procedures for checking the basic operation of the synthesizer are in the “Operator’s Check and Routine Maintenance” chapter. You will find procedures for checking electrical performance in the “Performance Tests” chapter of your manual set.

If there is any electrical or mechanical defect, or if the shipment is incomplete, notify the nearest Hewlett-Packard office. If the shipping container is damaged, or if the cushioning material shows signs of stress, notify the carrier as well as the Hewlett-Packard office. Keep the shipping material for the carrier’s inspection. The HP office

will arrange for repair or replacement without waiting for a claim settlement .
