This section describes how to set up the operating system and drivers including

♦Reformatting the hard drive.

♦Installing Windows 95A.

♦Installing video support.

♦Installing sound support.

♦Installing PC Card support.

♦Installing TouchPad support.

♦Installing Infrared support.

To prepare for software installation

1.Turn off the OmniBook by holding down the blue power button for 4 seconds.

2.Insert the OmniBook 3000 CD-ROM drive and connect the floppy disk drive to the Parallel port using the supplied cable.

3.Turn on the OmniBook 3000.

4.Press Esc during the Boot process.

5.Insert the OmniBook 3000 Recovery CD.

6.Press the System Off button on the back panel.

7.Press the blue Power button.

8.Press the Esc key during the boot process.

9.Select the CD-ROM Drive then press Enter.

10.Choose Exit to MS-DOS from the MS-DOS menu.

11.Type format C: /S /U.

12.Type Y to confirm format.

13.Enter a Volume label, then press Enter.

14.Insert a blank floppy disk in the A: drive.

15.Go to G:\RECOVER\BOOTDISK and type MAKEDISK.
