3 Configuring the HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage for iSCSI
This chapter explains how to establish an iSCSI connection between the HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage and the VMware ESX host. If you are running specific CNA cards, a software or hardware iSCSI initiator can be used. For details about hardware iSCSI configuration, see “Hardware iSCSI Support” (page 25).

Setting Up the Ports for an iSCSI Connection
To establish an iSCSI connection between the HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage and the ESX host, you need to set up each HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage iSCSI target port that will be connected to an iSCSI initiator as described in the following steps.
