NOTE:

The commands that begin with tsm: INTERNAL> were issued from the Tivoli command line interface (dsmadmc) from the PCC machine. The Administrative Command Line is also installed on the backup server. To start it, click Start > Programs > Tivoli Storage Manager > Administrative Command Line.

1.Set the configuration for DRM as suggested on pages 758 to 762 in the TSM Administrator’s Guide.

a.Enable backup for the storage pool that holds the smart cell group data:

tsm: INTERNAL>set drmprimstgpool SP.GROUP.PRI.TAPE,SP.APP.PRI.TAPE

tsm: INTERNAL>set drminstrprefix "c:\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM\;\server1\recinstr\rpp"

tsm: INTERNAL>set drmplanprefix "c:\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM;\server1\recplans\"

tsm: INTERNAL>set drmcmdfilename c:\tsmbackup\exec.cmd

b.Set the name of the courier service that transports media offsite:

tsm: INTERNAL>set drmcouriername "Joe’s courier service"

c.Set the location for off-site media:

tsm: INTERNAL>set drmvaultname "Ironvault, somewhere"

The output of the command tsm: INTERNAL>query drmstatus should now look similar to this:

2.Back up storage pools (only the ones for smart cell group data).

a.Define a storage pool for the media that will be used for the backup:

tsm: INTERNAL>define stgpool disaster-recovery DC.TAPE pooltype=copy maxscratch=50

b.Perform the backup of the client data:

tsm: INTERNAL>backup stgpool SP.GROUP.PRI.TAPE disaster-recovery maxprocess=1

tsm: INTERNAL>backup stgpool SP.APP.PRI.TAPE disaster-recovery

It is assumed that the process used volume TAPE.2 for backup data, since TAPE.1 contains the client data.

3.Perform a full backup of the database.

tsm: INTERNAL>backup db type=full devclass=DC.TAPE
