Connectivity

This section describes the various features the Mobile Board provides to connect to networks and the Internet.

Integrated Gigabit Ethernet LAN

The LAN subsystem includes:

•Intel ICH9M-E

•Intel 82567LM Gigabit (10/100/1000 Mb/s) Ethernet LAN controller with support for:

⎯Intel AMT

⎯Alert Standard Format (ASF) 2.0

⎯Virtual LAN driver support for Intel® Virtualization Technology (Intel® VT) partitions

•RJ-45 LAN connector with integrated status LEDs on Expansion Board A

The subsystem also features:

•CSMA/CD protocol engine

•LAN connect interface between the ICH9M-E and the LAN controller

•PCI bus power management

LAN Status Indicators

Two LEDs are built into the RJ-45 LAN connector located on Expansion Board A (see Figure 5, C). These LEDs indicate the operating states of the LAN.

Table 11 describes the LED states when the board is powered on and the LAN subsystem is operating.
