Chapter 5 — Network Support

Configuring 802.1x Security With Funk Security

This sets 802.1x security on your 751G with Funk security.

1Make sure you have configured the communications and radio parameters on your 751G and that Funk is your security choice.

2Open Intermec Settings. Tap (+) to expand Communications > 802.11 Radio > Funk Security > Profile X with “X” being “1” through “4.”

3For Association, select “Open” and press Enter. When working with Cisco Aironet access points, you can select “Network-EAP.”

4For Encryption, select “WEP” and press Enter.

5For 8021x, select “PEAP,” “TLS,” “TTLS,” “LEAP,” or “EAP-FAST” and press Enter.

If you select “TTLS” or “PEAP:”

a Select User Name, type your user name, then press Enter.

b Select User Password, type a user password, then press Enter.

c For Validate Server Certificate, select “Yes,” then press Enter. Note that you must have the date on the 751G set correctly when you enable

Validate Server Certificate.

d Enter a User Name and Subject Name. You can also enter a Server 1 Common name or Server 2 Common name to increase security.

If you select “TLS:”

a Load a user and root certificate on your 751G (page 118).

b For Validate Server Certificate, select “Yes,” then press Enter. Note that you must have the date on the 751G set correctly when you enable

Validate Server Certificate.

c You must enter a User Name and Subject Name. You can also enter a Server 1 Common name or Server 2 Common name if you want to increase your level of security.

If you select “LEAP” or “EAP-FAST:”

Select User Name, then type your user name. press Enter, select User Password, type a user password, then press Enter.
