5.If the detent balls are not protruding past the inside of the axle bushing or there is too much side‐to‐side movement of the rear wheel assembly, refer to the Owner’s Manual (part number 1056953) for instructions on adjusting the quick release axle.

NOTE: For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 6.2.
NOTE: If replacing the same size rear wheel, note the mounting position on the wheelchair frame for proper reinstallation of the new rear wheel.
1.Remove the hub cap (if applicable), mounting screw and locknut that secure the rear wheel and axle spacer (if applicable) to the wheelchair.
NOTE: Axle spacer is used only if wheelchair is equipped with conventional arms.
2.To reinstall the rear wheel onto the wheelchair, reverse STEP 1.
3.Torque locknut to 40‐45 ft‐lbs.
4.Repeat STEPS 1‐3 for the opposite wheel.
