LOAD A CASSETTE

Insert a Mini DV cassette with the erase protection

switch set to "REC".

 

Turn on the recorder before loading a cassette.

INFORMATION

You can switch between TV mode and AV mode by pressing TV/VCR.

*Depending on the type of TV used, TV/VCR button does not function as described above.

Accidental erasure prevention

Mini DV

To prevent accidental recording on a recorded cassette, set its erase protection switch to "SAVE". To record on it later, set the switch to "REC".

START RECORDING

Press and hold RECORD and press PLAY on the remote

control, or press RECORD on the recorder. The DV

5 record indicator ( ) lights.

If "DIRECT REC" is set to "ON", the programme that appears on the TV screen will be recorded ( pg. 11). (Only with a TV offering T-V Link)

 

You can not change the preset whilst recording is in

 

progress. To change the preset, see step 6.

PAUSE/RESUME RECORDING

 

Press PAUSE. Press PLAY to resume recording.

 

 

During the Record Pause mode, you can change the

preset by pressing the PR +/– buttons or the NUMBER

 

keys.

 

 

 

STOP RECORDING

 

 

Press STOP. The DV record indicator ( ) goes off. Then

7 press EJECT on the DV deck to remove the cassette.

NOTES:

It is not possible to record a TV programme on both the VHS deck and the DV deck simultaneously.

In addition, it is not possible to record simultaneously from the same external input.

When you record a tape on the DV deck with the recording speed set to "LP", we recommend that you play that tape back on this deck. Digital video recorders from other manufactur- ers may not be able to play the tape properly.
