Soupe aux légumes et à l’orge

1oignon moyen, coupé en morceaux de 1 pouce

2carottes moyennes, épluchées et coupées en morceaux de 1½ pouce

1branche de céleri, coupée en morceaux de 1½ pouce

2petites tomates, le pédoncule enlevé et épépinées

1/3 tasse d’haricots verts frais ou congelés, coupés

1/4 de tasse de petits pois frais ou congelés

1/4 de tasse de grains de maïs frais on congelé

4tasses (1 pinte) de bouillon de poulet ou de légumes

1/4 tasse d’orge moyenne

1/2 c. à thé de basilic séché

1/2 c. à thé de marjolaine séchée

1petite feuille de laurier

1/4 c. à thé de sel

1/8 à­1/4 c. à thé de poivre blanc

Mettre l’oignon, les carottes et le céleri dans le bol du hachoir muni de la lame. Insérer l’adaptateur de hachoir dans le corps du moteur et le fixer sur le bol. Activer par pulsation 5 à 6 fois à la vitesse 1, environ 5 secondes à la fois, ou jusqu’à ce que les légumes soient grossièrement hachés. Transvaser le mélange dans une grande casserole ou dans un faitout.

Mettre de côté.

Mettre les tomates dans le bol du hachoir. Remettre l’adaptateur en place; activer par pulsation 3 à 4 fois

àla vitesse 2, environ 3 secondes à la fois pour hacher les tomates.

Verser dans la casserole les tomates et le reste des ingrédients et porter à ébullition. Réduire la chaleur, couvrir et laisser mijoter pendant 45 à 60 minutes, ou jusqu’à ce que les légumes et l’orge soient tendres. Retirer la feuille de laurier.
