PDF Encryption Setting These items are displayed when “PDF w/ Password”
is selected as the attachment file format for the
folder. Specify the PDF encryption settings.

Enter the password (user password) required to
open the encrypted PDF. Up to 28 characters can be
entered.

Password
Enter the password (owner password) required to
change the permission settings of the encrypted
PDF. Up to 28 characters can be entered.

Permissions Set the printing, editing, and copying permissions.
Set “ON” to enable the operation, or “OFF” to disable
it.

Encryption
Level
Set the security level for viewing the PDF.
The PDF may not be able to be opened, depending on
the version of Acrobat.
For example, if you set the encryption level to “High
(128-bit AES) / Acrobat 7.0 or later”, the PDF will
not be able to be opened using Acrobat 6.0 or earlier.
