INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

3RD BROOM ARM DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY
NOTE
This is a basic procedure, it is often recalled during other procedures, when necessary.
CAUTION!
This procedure is applicable only for sweepers with appropriate fittings for the following equipments:
−Snow brush
−Snow cutter
Disassembly
1.Move the 3rd broom (21, Fig. G) aside, and lower the suction inlet (23) according to the procedure shown in the relevant paragraph.
2.Turn off the engine and engage the parking brake (13, Fig. E).
3.Operating according to the safety rules, with a proper hoisting system (1, Fig. AZ), sling the 3rd broom arm and arm extension
(2) in the points shown in the figure. Move the pipes and cable aside, to avoid squashing them during the lifting operation. 3rd broom arm weight: approximately 198.4 lb (90 kg).
4.Cut the clamps (3, Fig. AZ) securing cables and pipes.
5.Disconnect the three electrical connectors (4, Fig. AZ).
6.Disconnect the dust control system quick coupling (5, Fig. AZ) from the corresponding pipe coupling (6), then install the protection covers.
7.Disconnect the seven hydraulic system quick couplings (7, Fig. AZ) from the corresponding pipe couplings (5), then install the protection covers.
8.Unscrew the nut (8, Fig. AZ) securing the cylinder (9) to the 3rd broom arm extension and secure the cylinder to the machine with proper clamps.
9.Slightly tighten the hoisting system (1, Fig. AZ), then remove the four nuts (10) securing the 3rd broom arm extension to the machine.
10.Remove the arm and arm extension of the 3rd broom (2, Fig. AZ).
Assembly
11.Assemble the components in the reverse order of disassembly.
12.If necessary, check and adjust the 3rd broom position (see the procedure in the relevant paragraph).
WINTER MAINTENANCE
In winter, perform the following maintenance procedures carefully.
Procedures for machine storage or for machines working at less than +32°F (0°C)
1.Drain the nozzles and water tanks.
2.Drain and clean/replace the water filter.
3.Pour antifreeze in the water tanks (check the quantity).
4.Turn on the water pump (see the procedure in the relevant paragraphs) to let the antifreeze flow through the system until it comes out from the broom nozzles, from the suction hose nozzle and from the rear pipe nozzle (if equipped). When the antifreeze comes out from the nozzles, stop the pump.
5.Start the diesel engine as shown in the relevant paragraph.
6.Turn on the
WARNING!
Do not use the dust control system when the outside temperature is lower than +32°F (0°C) because it can create ice sheets on the pavement.
Procedures to perform when the machine has been stored for two months
7.Replace the engine oil and oil filter (see the relevant paragraphs).
8.Fill the fuel tank (see the relevant paragraph).
9.Apply grease.
10.Charge the battery.
11.Check the wheel pressure (see the relevant paragraph).
Procedures to perform when the machine has been stored for three months
8.Perform the same procedures of the second month.
9.Each month connect a battery charger and keep the battery charged for 12/24 hours.
