Date, time, and time zone: The date,
time, and time zone are acquired from
the Verizon Wireless network. You
cannot change any of the settings.
4If the Location pick list appears, select
it, and then select a city in your time
zone.
5If the Date and Time fields appear,
select the Date field and select the
date, and then select the Time field and
select the time.
6Select Done.
Optimizing power settings
Power Preferences enable you to adjust
settings to maximize your smartphone’s
battery performance.
1Press Applications and select
Prefs .
2Select Power.
3Set any of the following preferences:
Brightness: Sets the intensity of the
screen and keyboard backlights. Drag
the slider or press Left and Right
to adjust the brightness level.
Auto-off after: Determines how long
your screen stays on during a period of
inactivity. When there is no interaction
with the keyboard or screen for the
specified time period, your smartphone
turns off automatically.
On a call, dim backlight after:
Determines how long the backlight
stays on at normal intensity during a
phone call. After the specified time
TIP
Don’t see a city in your time zone? Select
Edit List, select Add, select a city in your
time zone, and then selectOK. If necessar y,
modify any of the settings in the Edit
Location dialogbox, and then select OK.

You can also set time zones for Calendar
events. See Creating an event.
