5Do one of the following:

•To record a sound, select New.

•To play a sound, select it with the

5-way .

•To delete a sound, highlight it and press Backspace .

•To send a sound, highlight it and select Send.

6Select Done twice.

TIP You can also create a new sound by selecting New in Sound & Alerts Preferences.

Selecting Phone alert tones

You can set various tones for various types of alerts.

1Press Phone .

2Press Menu .

3Select Options, and then select Sound Preferences.

4Select the Application pick list and select Phone Alerts.

5Select the Volume pick list and select the volume level.

6Select the Vibrate pick list and select how you want your smartphone to vibrate upon an incoming call.

7Select alert tones from the following pick lists:

Voicemail Alert: Indicates that a new voicemail message has arrived.

Coverage in/out: Indicates that you moved into or out of a coverage area.

Signal faded: Indicates that the signal lost strength and a call was dropped.

8Select Done.
