Problems

HP940 Startup The first time the HP940 printer is powered up, it may cause the system to hunt for more peripherals to install. Rebooting the system stops this activity.

Printer Instal- lation Problems

If a connected printer does not show up on the Setup/Peripherals screen, perform the following procedure:

1.Use the scroll bar in the options field to make sure you see all the printers in the list.

2.Make sure that the printer is connected to a live power source, that its USB cable is properly connected at both ends, that the printer is turned on, and that the printer shows no error indicators.

3.Reboot the M2540A, and see if the printer appears on the Setup/Peripherals screen.

4.Disconnect the USB cable from the printer.

5.Press the Setup key.

6.On the Setup window, click the Peripherals tab.

7.Click Install Software Drivers.

8.Click Printer.

9.Click OK.

10.Click Close.

11.Shut down the M2540A.

12.Connect the USB cable to the printer.

13.Start the M2540A.

If the procedure does not solve the problem, contact your service representative.
