Slides

Replacing the Slides

Each of the three lift column slide assemblies consists of an inner slide mounted on the lift column and an outer slide mounted in the lower enclosure plenum.

WARNING

Before beginning this procedure, complete “Preparation” on page 165, to prevent bodily injury

 

and damage to the system.

 

 

To replace the lift column slides:

1.Complete “Preparation” on page 165.

2.Remove the I/O panel and the anchor panel for the peripheral strap.

3.Remove the two screws at the bottom of the rear center panel, near the door hinges, and remove the panel and the doors.

4.Remove the gas spring and mechlok assembly. See “Replacing the Mechlok and Cable” on page 167.

When replacing slides, it is not necessary to remove the mechlok cable, or to disconnect the mechlok or the gas spring from their lower bracket.

5.Push the lower ends of the upper cable bundle into the plenum, to prevent their snagging in the plenum openings.

6.Stand the system upright.

7.Remove the four nylock nuts that secure the lift column surround plate to the top panel of the lower enclosure.

8.Carefully pull the lift column out of the lower enclosure.
