NOTE The message “Press any key to boot from CD” displays two more times during the installation. Do not press a key when it does. The message clears after a few moments.

6.When the message, “Please insert the M2540A Ultrasound Application CD” displays, remove the Operating System CD from the CD drive and put the Ultrasound Application CD in. Press Y.

7.When the message “Please insert the M2540A COTS Drivers CD” displays, remove the Ultrasound Application CD from the CD drive and put the COTS CD in. Press Y. When the COTS software installation finishes, the system automatically restarts. If the installation is successful, the monitor displays the ultrasound imaging screen.

8.When the ultrasound imaging screen appears, remove the COTS CD.

9.Restore the customer’s presets. (See “Restoring Customer Presets” on page 146.)

Backing Up and Restoring Presets

Before performing any service that deletes a customer’s presets, back them up to a floppy disk. After the procedure is complete, restore the customer’s presets from the floppy disk.

NOTE If the system is connected to a DICOM network, you must manually record the network settings. The backup function records settings made on the DICOM Setup window, but does not record those settings made on the Network Settings window.

Backing Up Customer Presets

To back up a customer’s presets:

1.Start the M2540A.

2.Insert a blank floppy disk in the PC’s floppy disk drive.
