Procedures

This section contains procedures for servicing M2540A software and the hardware components of the internal PC.

The following procedures describe reloading and upgrading the ultrasound software, and backing up and restoring customer presets.

System Software

Complete the following procedure to reload or upgrade the system software. The procedure takes about 45 minutes to complete and requires three CDs:

NOTE Disconnect the USB cables from all printers, and make sure the floppy disk drive and the MOD drive are empty before beginning software installation.

1.Back up the customer’s presets. (See “Backing Up Customer Presets” on page 143.)

2.Put the Operating System CD in the CD drive.

3.Restart the system.

4.Watch for the message, “Press any key to boot from CD” which displays briefly during startup. When the message appears, press the Return key.

5.When the message “Do you wish to delete all data and install XPE?” displays, press A.
