!Werecommend to keep a record of your code
numberin case you forget it.
!Theparental lock level is recorded on the disc.
Youcan confirm it by looking at the disc pack-
age,included literature or on the disc itself.
Withdiscs that do not feature a recorded par-
entallock level, you cannot use parental lock.
!Withsome discs, parental lock operates to
skipcertain scenes only, after which normal
playbackresumes. For details, refer to the
discsinstructions.
Changing the level
Youcan change the set parental lock level.
1 TouchSETUP and VISUAL and then
touchPARENTAL.
2 Touch09 to input the registered code
number.
3 TouchENTER.
Thisenters the code number, and you can now
changethe level.
#Ifyou input an incorrect code number, the
icon isdisplayed. Touch Cand input the cor-
rectcode number.
#Ifyou forget your code number, refer to If you
forgetyour code number on this page.
4 Touchany of 18 to select the desired
level.
Thenew parental lock level is set.
If you forget your code number
Referto Changing the level on this page, and
touchC10 times. The registered code number
iscanceled, letting you register a new one.
Setting remote control
code type
Whenthe remote control operation switch is
setto DVD, changing the remote control code
typeenables you to operate the Pioneer DVD
playerby the supplied remote control. There
arethree remote codes, code type A, code
typeBand code type AVH .When using this
unitwith a multi-DVD player (e.g. XDV-P9II),
selectcode A. When using this unit with a
DVDnavigation unit, select code B. When
usingthis unit only, select code AVH .
1 Setthe remote control selection switch
onthe left side of the remote control to
theappropriate position with a pen tip or
otherpointed instrument .
!Ifyou select AVH mode, there is no need to
takethe following procedure.
!Ifyou select A/Bmode, take the following
procedureand change the code type to the
appropriatetype.
2 Press7 and 0 on the remote control si-
multaneouslyto change the code type.
Initially,the code type is set to A. Each time
youpress 7and 0simultaneously on the re-
motecontrol the code type switches between
AandB.
