What the marks on DVDsindicate
Themarks below may be found on DVD disc
labelsand packages. They indicate the type of
imagesand audio recorded on the disc, and
thefunctions you can use.
Mark Meaning
2Indicatesthe number of audio sys-
tems.
2Indicatesthe number of subtitle lan-
guages.
3Indicatesthe number of viewing an-
gles.
16 : 9 LB Indicatesthe picture size (aspect ratio:
screenwidth-to-height ratio) type.

Indicatesthe number of the region
whereplayback is possible.

When an operation is prohibited

Whenyou are watching a DVD and attempt to
performan operation, it may not be per formed
bythe programming on the disc. When this
happens,this unit indicates the icon on the
screen.
!Theicon may not appear in certain dis-
cs.
Resetting the microprocessor
PressingRESET lets you reset the micropro-
cessorto its initial settings without changing
thecondition memory.
Themicroprocessor must be reset under the
followingconditions:
!Priorto using this unit for the first time
afterinstallation
!Ifthe unit fails to operate properly
!Whenstrange or incorrect messages ap-
pearon the display
1 Turnthe ignition switch OFF.
2 PressRESET with a pen tip or other
pointedinstrument.

Notes
!Whenusing with a Pioneer navigation unit, if
youpress RESET, be sure ACC OFF is se-
lected.If ACC ON is selected, correct opera-
tionmay not be possible even if you press
RESET.
!Aftercompleting connections or when you
wantto erase all memorized settings or return
theunit to its initial (factory) settings, switch
yourengine ON or set the ignition switch to
ACCON before pressing RESET.
