Using the position selector
Oneway to assure a more natural sound is to
accuratelyposition the stereo image, putting
youright in the center of the sound field.The
positionselector function letsyou automati-
callyadjust the speaker output levels and in-
sertsa delay time to match the number and
positionof occupied seats.
1 TouchA.MENU and AUDIO and then
touchPOSITION.
2 Touchc/d/a/bto select a listening po-
sition.
Touchone of these, c/d/a/b, to select a lis-
teningposition as listed in the table.

#Tocancel the selected listening position,
touchthe same key again.
Note
Whenyou make adjustments for listening posi-
tion,the speakers are automatically set for appro-
priateoutput levels. You can tailor them if you

Using balance adjustment
Youcan select a fader/balance setting that
providesan ideal listening environment in all
occupiedseats.
1 TouchA.MENU and AUDIO and then
touchFADER/BALANCE.
2 Touchaor bto adjust front/rear
speakerbalance.
Eachtime you touch aor bmoves the front/
rearspeaker balance towards the front or the
rear.
FADF:25 FAD R:25 is displayed as the front/
rearspeaker balance moves from front to rear.
#FADFR: 0 is the proper setting when only two
speakersare used.
3 Touchcor dto adjust left/right speak-
erbalance.
Eachtime you touch cor dmoves the left/
rightspeaker balance towards the left or the
right.
BALL:25 BAL R:25 is displayed as the left/
rightspeaker balance moves from left to
right.
Adjusting source levels
SLA(source level adjustment) lets you adjust
thevolume level of each source to prevent ra-
dicalchanges in volume when switching be-
tweensources.
!Settingsare based on the FM tuner volume
level,which remains unchanged.
1 Comparethe FM tuner volume level
withthe level of the source you wish to ad-
just.
2 TouchA.MENU and AUDIO and then
touchSLA.
3 Touchaor bto adjust the source vo-
lume.
Eachtime you touch aor bincreases or de-
creasesthe source volume.
