Working With Cells, Rows and Columns

Entering Symbols

To enter symbols like hatch symbol (#) or to change the character set:

Tap on Menu>Insert>Symbol.

In the Insert Symbol dialog box, choose the font you would prefer to use.

In the Subset drop-down menu, choose the character set you’d like to use.

7.7.4 Working With Cells, Rows and Columns

Excel offers a number of formatting and editing tools to help you create a profes- sional and accurate spreadsheet.

Formatting Cells

Tap on the cell you want to format, or select a group of cells by dragging the stylus across them.

Tap on Menu>Format>Cells.

With this dialog box, you can change the cell size (in pixels), and format the display of numbers, alignment, fonts and borders.

In the tabs at the bottom of the screen, choose the specific cell characteris- tics you want to change.
