DConfirm that “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP )” is selected in the [Components checked are used by
this connection:] box on the [General] tab.

❒If the check box for TCP/IP protocol is not selected, select the box.
❒If the TCP/IP protocol is not installed, click [Install...] on the [General] tab and install it. For more
information about installing the TCP/IP protocol, see Windows XP Help.
EConfigure the TCP/IP protocols with the appropriate IP address, subnet mask and ot her se ttin gs.
Confirm that the settings are correct with the network administrator.
Installing Software
Preparation
If you are not using the print server, install SmartNetMonitor for Clie nt, and th en insta ll the printer
driver by selecting "SmartNetMonitor for Client". This enables peer -to-peer network printing with the
TCP/IP, NetBEUI, or IPP protocol.
Installing SmartNetMonitor for Client

AClose all applications that are running.

BInsert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
Auto Run will start the installer.

❒Auto Run might not automatically work with certain OS settings. In t his case, launch "Setup.exe"
located on the CD-ROM root directory.
