Settings for the Composer

Changing the Key When Playing Back Songs

SMF Music files or a performance that you recorded can be

transposed for playback.

1.Press the [Function] button.

2.Using the Select [-] and [+] buttons, select “Play Transpose.”

3.Press the [Bwd]/[Fwd] buttons to select the value for transpose.

Each press of the [Bwd]/[Fwd] buttons transpose the key by a semitone.

You can transpose the song within a range of -24 to +24 semitone.

To return to the basic screen, press the [Function] button or the [Display/Exit] button.

You can transpose the keyboard for performance. For details refer to “Transposing to a Different Key (Transpose Buttons)” (p. 46).

Count-in Recording

This setting (ON/OFF) determines whether or not a metronome count-in (2 measures) will be heard after pressing the [Play] button on recording. The count-in helps you to establish the tempo before you begin playing.

1.Press the [Function] button.

2.Using the Select [-] and [+] buttons, select

“Count-In Rec.”

3.Press the [Bwd]/[Fwd] buttons to turn it ON or OFF.

ON

A two-measure count will sound before recording

OFF

No count will sound before recording

To return to the basic screen, press the [Function] button or the [Display/Exit] button.

Changing the Metronome Setting

This setting determines whether or not the metronome will

sound.

1.Press the [Function] button.

2.Using the Select [-] and [+] buttons, select “Met-

ronome”

3.Press the [Bwd]/[Fwd] buttons to select OFF, REC, or ON.

OFF Not heard at all

REC Heard only while recording

ON Heard constantly

To return to the basic screen, press the [Function] button or the [Display/Exit] button.
