2.4.1.2Copy the Drivers from the Supplemental CD

1.Insert the Supplemental CD into the CD/DVD drive of the hostname system.

2.Use the appropriate command for your operating system to copy the drivers directory into the shared folder created in Section 2.4.1.1, “Create a Shared Drivers Directory” on page 2-7:

For a Solaris system:

#cp -r /cdrom/cdrom0/drivers/* /export/home/drivers

For a Linux system:

#cp -r cdrom-mount-point/drivers/* /drivers

Where cdrom-mount-pointis the mount point for your Linux distribution.

For a Windows system (assuming D: is the CD/DVD drive):

>copy D:\*.* C:\drivers

3.Log in to the Sun Fire X2100 system as superuser (Linux and Solaris) and administrator for Windows.

4.On a Sun Fire X2100 connect to the network share directory created in

Section 2.4.1.1, “Create a Shared Drivers Directory” on page 2-7, using the command that applies to the appropriate OS:

For a Solaris system:

#cd /net/hostname/drivers

For a Linux system:

#cd /net/hostname/drivers

For a Windows system:

i.Open Windows Explorer.

ii.Select Tools from the pull down menu. dd
