CAUTION

When the power on/standby switch is in stand-by and the AC power cord remains connected to a power receptacle, AC voltage is present in the power supply.

10.If the equipment will be serviced or moved, disconnect the AC power cord from the AC receptacle.

Emergency power-off procedures

An emergency power-off procedure may be used when the power must be switched off immediately.

Controller or Printer Emergency Conditions

The controller emergency power off procedure may corrupt the DocuSP software. This method should only be used in an emergency.

To power off the system in an emergency use any of the following methods:

Switch off the controller power switch on the front of the controller.

On the DocuSP Print Services, the System menu, select the option for Immediate Shutdown.

Pull the controller power cord from its receptacle.

To power off the printer in an emergency use any of the following methods:

Press the red button on the printer.

Pull the printer power cord from the power receptacle.

An emergency power off of the printer will not corrupt the DocuSP system software. However, you will need to enter Reset at the OK prompt if the controller displays the OK prompt.

For the printer or the controller, if any of the following conditions occur, disconnect the power cable from the power socket immediately and contact an authorized Xerox Service Representative to correct the problem

The equipment emits unusual odors, or makes unusual noises.

The power cable is damaged or frayed.

A wall panel circuit breaker, fuse, or other safety device has been tripped.

Liquid is spilled into the equipment.

The equipment is exposed to water damage or flood.

Any part of the equipment is physically damaged.
