Turning the Answering Machine on or off

You can turn the answering machine on or off through the Set Options list. The default set- ting is on.

To turn the answering machine on or off:

1.Press the Set Options key.

2.Use ªto scroll to number 9 or press ‚·to go directly to the item.

3.Press • to turn the answering machine on or off.

4.Press ®.

Even when the answering machine is turned off it will answer the call after 15 rings. This allows you to turn on the answering machine using the Remote Access feature. For infor- mation about Remote Access, see Remote Access on page 55.

Number of Rings before answering

You can set the number of rings the answering machine waits before answering. You can choose from two to nine rings. The default setting is four rings.

To set the number of rings:

1.Press the Set Options key.

2.Use ªto scroll to number 11 or press ⁄⁄to go directly to the item.

3.Press •to set the number of rings.

4.Enter the number of rings using the dial pad.

5.Press ß.

6.Press ®.
