Important:
LOnly 1 handset can access the answering system (listen to messages, record a greeting message, etc.) at a time.
LWhen callers leave messages, the unit records the day and time of each message. Make sure the date and time have been set (page 11).
Turning the answering system on/off
1Press $(centre of joystick).
2Select K, then press ,.
3Select “Answer On” or “Answer Off”, then press ,.
4Press {ih}.
Note:
LWhen the answering system is turned on, ris displayed next to the battery icon.
LWhen the answering system is turned off, rdisappears. The unit will not answer calls.
Greeting message
When the unit answers a call, callers are greeted by a greeting message. You can record your own greeting message or use a prerecorded greeting message.
Recording a greeting message
You can record your own greeting message (2 minutes and 30 seconds max.).
1Press $(centre of joystick).
2Select K, then press ,.
3Select “Record”, then press ,.
4Select “Record OGM”, then press
,.
LHold the handset about 20 cm away and speak clearly into the microphone.
5Press Zto stop recording.
LThe greeting message is played back.
6Press {ih}.
Note:
LTo erase the greeting message, press _during playback, select “Yes”, then press ,.
L“Error” is displayed if the greeting message is less than 1 second long.
Using a prerecorded greeting message
If you erase or do not record your own greeting message, the unit can play a prerecorded greeting message for callers and ask them to leave messages. If the message recording time (page 40) is set to “Greeting Only”, caller messages will not be recorded and the unit will play a different prerecorded greeting message asking callers to call again.
