SETTING NETWORK PARAMETERS

This chapter contains detailed descriptions of common management tasks for setting up your 7600 Card to work with an SNMP manager (for example, Transcend ATM Manager), TFTP or Telnet (if working through the CELLplex 7000 unit). An IP address, subnet mask and Default Gateway must be defined in the bridge to which the SNMP manager is connected.

The IP address is used to identify the 7600 Card within the network. The SNMP and TFTP use this address when connecting to the 7600 Card.

The Network Management Station (NMS) IP address is defined in the 7600 Card to enable the unit to send SNMP traps to the NMS.

The following management tasks are covered:

Manage IP parameters

QDisplay Current IP Configuration

QUpdate IP Address

QUpdate Default Gateway

QUpdate Subnet Mask

Manage SNMP parameters

QDisplay SNMP Configuration

QUpdate NMS IP Address
