description: Adds a value pair (wavelength; offset) to the offset table, or overwrites an existing value pair.
The offset table entries are ordered from shortest to longest wavel ength.

Calculates the difference between the power measured by an external power-
meter (hosted in the same mainframe) and the power measured by the attenu-
ator module’s integrated powermeter, and stores i t as the offset.
