command: :INPut[n][:CHANnel[m]]:OFFSet
syntax: :INPut[n][:CHANnel[m]]:OFFSet<wsp><val ue>[dB] | MIN | DEF | MAX
description: Sets the offset factor (α Offset ) for the instrument. This factor does not affect the filter atten-
uation (
α
filter ). It is used to offset the attenua tion factor values. This offset factor is used,
with the attenuation factor, to set the at tenuation of the filter. In this way it is possible to
compensate for external losses.

α
Offset (new) (dB)
Set the offs et factor by sending a va lue (the de fault unit s are dB), or by sending MIN, DEF, or
MAX.
parameters: <valu e>[dB]
MIN
DEF
MAX
The offset factor (α Offset ) in dB.
Sets the minimum value for α Offset = - 200dB.
Sets the default value for α Offset = 0dB.
Sets the maximum value for α Offset = + 200dB.
response: none
example: INP1:OFFS 2dB
affects: All attenuator modules
command: :INPut[n][:CHANnel[m]]:OFFSet?
syntax: :INPut[n][:CHANnel[m]]:OFFSet?<wsp >MIN | DEF | MAX
description: Returns the current va lue of the offse t factor (α Offset ), in dB.
parameters: MIN | DEF | MAX Returns the minimum, default, or ma ximum value of the offset fa ctor.
response: 4 byte Intel floating point; offset in dB.
example: INP1:OFFS? 2<END>
affects: All attenuator modules
command: :INPut[n][:CHANnel[m]]:OFFSet:DISPlay
syntax: :INPut[n][:CHANnel[m]]:OFFSet:DISPlay
description: Sets the offset factor (α Offset ) such that t he attenuation factor is zero.
