Problems starting up the computer
The computer doesn’t start up.
mThe battery may need recharging. Plug the power cord into a working outlet and then plug the power adapter into the computer. Let the battery recharge for a few minutes.
mCheck that the power cord is plugged into a working outlet. If it’s plugged into a power strip, make sure the power strip is turned on. The power adapter should get warm after being plugged in for 10 minutes. If it is cold, make sure the adapter is securely plugged in and attached to
the power cord.
mThe screen brightness may be turned down. Adjust the brightness control (marked with the icon ¤) located above the top row of keys on the keyboard, to the right of center.
mMake sure the battery is properly seated in its compartment.
mIf none of these measures helps, you may need to reset the computer. The
method of resetting you should always try first is to press the Command
(x), Control, and Power keys simultaneously. If the computer does not start
up, connect the power adapter (if it is not already connected) and press the reset button (marked with the icon I) on the back panel.
