UsINg THe Web-based adVaNCed UseR INTeRfaCe Configuring the Wireless Network settings
The “Wireless” tab le ts you make change s to the wireles s network
settings. From this tab you can make chan ges to the wirele ss network
name or Service Set Identifier (SSID), operating chann el, encryption
security settings, and configure th e Router to be use d as an access point.
Changing the Wireless Network Name (ssId)
To identify your wireless network, a name called the SSID is used.
The SSID is your networ k name. The defau lt network name o f the
Router is “Belkin N Wir eless” followed by s ix digits that are unique to
your Router. Your network name w ill look something like “Belkin_N _
Wireless_123456”. You can change this to anything you ch oose, or
you can leave it unchang ed. Keep in mind, if you decide to cha nge
your wireless network name, and there a re other wireles s networks
operating in your area , your network na me needs to be dif ferent from
other wireless networ ks that may be ope rating in your are a. To change
the SSID, type in the SS ID that you want to u se in the SSID fie ld (1)
and click “Apply Changes” (2). The change is i mmediate. If you ma ke a
change to the SSID, your wi reless-equippe d computers may also need
to be reconfigured to c onnect to your new network name. Ref er to the
documentation of your w ireless network adapter for inform ation on
making this change.

Note: Please periodically c heck for new Router firmware updates
from the “Utilities > Fi rmware update” page. Newer firmware can fix
problems, add wireles s features, and/or improve wireless p erformance
(see page 57).
