Router is on, and the “internet” led is blinking�
1� If you cannot connect to the Intern et, the “modem” LED is on,
and the “internet” LED is blinking, the pr oblem may be that
your connection type may not match the IS P’s connection.
2� If you have a “static IP address” conne ction, your ISP mus t
assign you the IP addre ss, subnet mask, and gateway
address. Please refer to the section en titled “Alternate
Setup Method” for detai ls on changing thi s setting.
3� If you have a “PPPoE” connection, your ISP w ill assign you a u ser
name and password and sometimes a ser vice name. Make su re
the Router’s connection t ype is configur ed to PPPoE and the
settings are entered properly. Please ref er to the section entitled
“Alternate Setup Method” fo r details on chan ging this setting.
4� You may need to configure your Router to me et the
specific requirement s of your ISP. To search our
knowledge base for ISP- specific issues , go to: http://
web.belkin.com/support and type in “ISP ”.

1� I f the “modem” LED i s blinking, and the “internet” LED i s
solid, but you are unabl e to access the I nternet, there may
be third-party fire wall software ins talled on the co mputer
attempting to access t he Internet. Exam ples of third-par ty
firewall software are ZoneAlarm, Black ICE PC Protection,
McAfee Personal Firewall , and Norton Per sonal Firewall.
2� If yo u do have firewall so ftware installe d on your compute r,
please make sure that yo u properly confi gure it. You can
determine if the firewall software is pr eventing Internet a ccess
by temporarily turning it off. If, while the firewall is disabl ed,
Internet access works properly, you will ne ed to change the
firewall settings to fun ction properly w hen it is turned on.
3� Plea se refer to the ins tructions provid ed by the publishe r of your
firewall software for instructions on c onfiguring the f irewall to allow
Internet access.
