UsINg THe Web-based adVaNCed UseR INTeRfaCe Using dynamic dNs The Dynamic DNS ser vice allows you to a lias a dynamic IP address
to a static host name in any of the many do mains DynDNS.org o ffers,
allowing your network co mputers to be mor e easily access ed from
various locations on th e Internet. DynD NS.org provides thi s service, for
up to five host names, f ree to the Interne t community.
The Dynamic DNSSM ser vice is ideal fo r a home website, f ile server, or
to make it easy to acces s your home PC and stored files whil e you’re at
work. Using the servi ce can ensure th at your host name always points to
your IP address, no mat ter how often your ISP changes it. When your IP
address changes, your friends and as sociates can alway s locate you by
visiting yourname.dyndn s.org instead!
setting up the Router’s dynamic dNs Update Client
You must register with DynD NS.org’s free update s ervice before u sing
this feature. Once you have your registratio n, follow the direct ions below.
1� Select DynDNS as the “DDNS Service” (1).
2� Enter your DynDNS.org user name in the “User Name” field (2).
3� Enter your DynDNS.org passwo rd in the “Password ” field (3).
4� Enter the DynDNS.org domain name you set up w ith
DynDNS.org in the “Doma in Name” field (4).
5� Click “Update Dynamic DNS” (5) to update your I P address.
Whenever your IP addres s assigned by your ISP changes, the Router will
automatically update Dy nDNS.org’s servers with your new IP add ress.
You can also do this manual ly by clicking the “Update Dynamic D NS”
button (5).
