Cannot Install the MP DriversUnable to proceed beyond the Printer

Ifyou wereunable toproceed beyond the Printer Connection screen, follow
the procedure below to reinstall the MP Drivers.
Printer Connection

(1)CIick Cancel onthe Printer Connection screen.
(2)Ctick Start Over on the Installation Failure screen.
(3)Ctick Back onthe screenthat appears next.
(4)Ctick Exiton the PIXMA XXX screen (where "XXX" is _ourmachine's name),
then remove the CD-ROM.
(5)Turn the machine off.
(6)Restart yourcomputer.
(7)Make sure youhave no application software running, including antFvirus
software.
(8)Follow the procedure described in your setup sheetto reinstallthe MP
Drivers.
(1)Click Startthen Computer.
InWindows XP,Click Startthen MyComputer.
InWindows 2000, double-click the My Computer icon on thedesktop.
(2)Double-click the CD-ROM icon,}_ on the displayed window.

Touse the Run command tostart the setup program, specify your disc drive and
thenthe nameof the setup program, MSETUP4.EXE. Thedrive letterof the disc
drive depends onyour computer.
Double-click the CD-ROM icon on your desktop to start installation.
Ifthe CD-ROM icon isnot displayed, restart your computer.
Ifthe CD-ROM icon isstill not displayed, try different disks and see ifthey are
displayed. If other disks are displayed, there is a problem with the SetupCD-
ROM. Contact yourCanon service representative.
Follow the procedure described in your setupsheet forproper installation.
Ifthe MP Drivers were notinstalled correctly, uninstatt the MP Drivers, restart
yourcomputer, andthen reinstallthe MP Drivers. Referto the PC Printing Guide
on-screen manual.
Note
Ifthe installerwas forcedto beterminated due to a Windows error,the system
may be in an unstable condition andyou maynot be able toinstall the MP
Drivers. Restart your computer before reinstalling.
