Paper Jams
Paperjammed inthe Paper Output Slot
orthe RearTray.
Landscape credit card-sized paper
jammed inside the machine.
Remove the paper following the procedure below.
(1}Slowly pull thepaper out, eitherfrom theRear Tray or fromthe Paper Output
Slot, whichever iseasier.
Ifthe paper tears and a piece remains insidethe machine, turn the machine
off, open the Scanning Unit (Printer Cover) andremove it.
Becareful notto touch the components inside the machine.
After removing all paper,close the Scanning Unit (Printer Cover), and turn it
backon.
If you cannot pull thepaper out,turn the machine offand turn itback on.The
paper will be ejected automatically.
(2)Reload the paper in the machine, and pressthe OK button onthe machine.
Ifyou turned off the machine in step (1), all print jobs in queue are canceled.
Reprint if necessary.

When reloading thepaper in the machine, see"Paper Does NotFeed
Properly" on page 66 to confirm that you are usingthe correct paperand are
loading it into the machine correctly.
Ifyou cannot remove the paper or the paper tears inside the machine, or if the
paper jam error continues after removing thepaper, contactyour Canon Service
representative.
Donot loadcredit card-sized paper in landscape orientation.
Slowly puttout the paper from the Rear Trayand remove it.
Ifyou cannot remove the jammed paper or the paper jam error continues after
removing the paper, contact yourCanon Service representative.
