LOGICA DI ABILITAZIONE E DISABILI- TAZIONE FREE-COOLING (unità ROOF TOP).

FREE-COOLING ENABLING/DISABLING LOGIC (ROOF TOP units).

The operating logic of the free-cooling system is based on the continuous comparison of the external air temperature with the room air temperature.

According to the measured values, the microprocessor regulates the opening of the external damper.

The operating logic is the following:

The "Setpoint fresh air" parameter (% value) defines the opening position of the external damper to guarantee a minimum quantity of fresh air in the rooms, independently of the free-cooling request.

If the room temperature drops below the set point by 3°C, the damper will close completely (0%) to avoid the supply of extremely cool air into the rooms.

The free-cooling is activated when the difference (DT) between the room air temperature (T amb) and the external air temperature (T ext) exceeds 2°C.

Therefore, the microprocessor commands the opening of the damper, in proportion to the cooling request.

If the difference (DT) between the room air temperature (T amb) and the external air temperature (T ext) is below 1°C the free-cooling is deactivated.

Fig. 60

Esempio:

-setpoint 22°C

-temperatura ambiente 25°C

-temperatura esterna 24°C Con questi valori otteniamo:

2 3 4 DT (°C)

Example:

-set point 22°C

-room temperature 25°C

-external temperature 24°C. These values allow to obtain a:

-DT (T amb – T ext) 25 – 24 = 1°C

When DT = 1°C, the free-cooling is deactivated and, accordingly, the opening of the free-cooling damper corre- sponds to the "Set point fresh air" value.

Should the external air temperature fall to 22.5°C, you would obtain:

- DT (T amb – T ext) 25 – 22.5 = 2.5°C

When DT = 2.5°C the free-cooling is activated and the opening position of the air damper is proportional to the cooling request (in this case, 100%).

Should the external air temperature rise to 24.5°C, you would obtain:

- DT (T amb – T ext) 25 – 24.5 = 0.5°C. In this case, the free- cooling is deactivated.
